Job purpose
You will be responsible for increasing Hill Cross Furniture’s physical presence in specific geographic locations with focus on identification of new business opportunities on an outbound basis. You will work to engage with clients, understand their requirements and take their project from inception to order. You will also assist with inbound enquiries to aid the internal sales team in times of elevated levels of enquiry.
Responsibilities
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development duties will include but not be limited to:
- Identification of new business opportunities within specific locations through social media channels or otherwise and creating a first point of contact
- Identification of new business opportunities and wider scope through enquiries to Hill Cross info email box, CRM brochure downloads & sample requests
- Utilisation of CRM target accounts. Ensure that target accounts are identified within this space for full transparency across the team.
- Making cold calls where appropriate
- Arrange and attend face-to-face meetings with clients focusing on diary organisation to maximise the number of meetings and minimise costs.
- Showcase the Hill Cross Furniture offering by phone or in person with our client message at the core.
- Attendance of networking events
- Ensure periodic telephone contact takes place for new clients to ensure maximum output.
- Share marketplace innovations digitally, in person or by phone
Inform the marketing team of any appropriate commercial news within the weekly meeting. - Assisting the Client Experience Director with large projects where needed
Sales duties will include but not be limited to:
- Ordering samples
- Communicating with suppliers and negotiating pricing
Raising quotations - Communicating with clients with a ‘call first’ approach.
- Follow up on quotations to gain client feedback.
- Closing the first sale
- Raising and confirming purchase orders with suppliers
- Completing effective project handovers from sales to project management
- Communicating with clients post project for project imagery.
- Assist with inbound enquiries to aid the internal sales team in times of elevated levels of enquiry
KPI’s
- Contribute towards the Business Development team’s overall turnover target with the achievement of personal set monthly turnover target.
- Maintain average deal value.
- Maintain margin across outbound projects.
- Territorial growth within a set geographical location.
