Some of the Hill Cross team enjoyed a fantastic night at the Food Made Good awards on the 5th of November. As the first contract furniture supplier to partner with the SRA (Sustainable Restaurant Association) we were keen to attend the event and meet like-minded individuals and companies within the restaurant market place.
We were delighted to bring Nicola Lindsell and Nicola Keenan from Boxx Creative – ‘Consciously Creative’ designers who specialise in sustainable and environmentally friendly interior design.
It was great to see one of our clients – Nandos, pick up an award for ‘Sourcing: Support Global Farmers’ for their work with African farmers supplying Bird’s eye chillies, along with all the other amazing forward thinking winners. Back at HQ we have our sights set on the Food Made Good Rising Star award next year!
There was some fantastic food up for grabs with delicious street & bowl food from Kerb, Biàn dāng, Award Winning Pies, Biff’s, Nazarí, The Cinnamon Club, Open Blue, Natures Choice & Appetite – with a team favourite being the Roasted sweet potato and chickpea tagine from Nazarí.
Celebrity guests included host Melissa Hemsley, Raymond Blanc – the president of the SRA & Prue Leith –Vice president of the SRA and of GBBO fame.
The event had a great turnout, showing how people’s attitudes are changing towards the subject and how the SRA and the Food Made Good awards are driving that change within the industry. Hill Cross Furniture are proud to be members of such an organisation, and look forward to the year ahead.
